The E-Accountability Foundation announces the

'A for Accountability' Award

to those who are willing to whistleblow unjust, misleading, or false actions and claims of the politico-educational complex in order to bring about educational reform in favor of children of all races, intellectual ability and economic status. They ask questions that need to be asked, such as "where is the money?" and "Why does it have to be this way?" and they never give up. These people have withstood adversity and have held those who seem not to believe in honesty, integrity and compassion accountable for their actions. The winners of our "A" work to expose wrong-doing not for themselves, but for others - total strangers - for the "Greater Good"of the community and, by their actions, exemplify courage and self-less passion. They are parent advocates. We salute you.

Winners of the "A":

Johnnie Mae Allen
David Possner
Dee Alpert
Aaron Carr
Harris Lirtzman
Hipolito Colon
Larry Fisher
The Giraffe Project and Giraffe Heroes' Program
Jimmy Kilpatrick and George Scott

Teacher is Punished for Not Following the New Curriculum Exactly as Ordered
I was a Chinese BIlingual teacher. I have lost my teaching job, and am a sacrifice of the so-called 3020a teacher killer. My 3020 hearings were a total political purging against me because I was openly against the "Whole Language" ideology and practices. I did whole class instructions and at the same time organized my students by their abilities, I tested my students daily, and arranged my students' seats in rows. I taught phonics in my own way, which was more effective than the "traditional way" and more suitable for new immigrant Chinese students. The authorities deprived me and my students of many supports that other teachers and their students received. Still my students' academic progress both in English and maths were outstanding, and even broke the myth that "BIlingual Education was never good for immigrant students". I was the only teacher in the school, probably in the whole School District Two, the Whole Language coordinators did not want to bother to instruct for a long long time before they eventually got rid of me, because I always asked questions that they could not answer, and always asked for teaching demonstrations that they knew they could most likely defeat their purposes. During the hearings, I was never allowed to present my students homeworks, daily tests results, and the wide range teaching materials that I used with my new immigrant students, etc. In short, I was absolutely not allowed to show the real sublstance of students' learning. It was sad that not too many people knew or dare to show interest in my hearing case openly, although many teachers did privately. Bilingual education has very bad reputaion, and that makes a good bilingual teacher more defenceless in every way, especially in the case on resisting the ever powerful tides of "progressive constructivist" education. From teachers in exile.

I was a Chinese BIlingual teacher.

I have lost my teaching job, and am a sacrifice of the so-called 3020a teacher killer. My 3020 hearings were a total political purging against me because I was openly against the "Whole Language" ideology and practices.
