The E-Accountability Foundation announces the

'A for Accountability' Award

to those who are willing to whistleblow unjust, misleading, or false actions and claims of the politico-educational complex in order to bring about educational reform in favor of children of all races, intellectual ability and economic status. They ask questions that need to be asked, such as "where is the money?" and "Why does it have to be this way?" and they never give up. These people have withstood adversity and have held those who seem not to believe in honesty, integrity and compassion accountable for their actions. The winners of our "A" work to expose wrong-doing not for themselves, but for others - total strangers - for the "Greater Good"of the community and, by their actions, exemplify courage and self-less passion. They are parent advocates. We salute you.

Winners of the "A":

Long-Term Investing For Teens

NYSE aims to teach teens long-term investing

Friday, May 06, 2005 - The New York Stock Exchange Foundation has committed $340,000 to helping launch the Investment Education Project, an innovative investment education program created by Distributive Education Clubs of America, Inc. and BetterInvesting, formerly the National Association of Investors Corp.

The amount is to be paid over four years to the program. IEP aims to teach high school students about the nation's economy and how to control their personal financial destinies through long-term investing.

MarkEd, a marketing education resource center, is developing the curriculum while DECA and BetterInvesting will continue to seek additional financial support to expand the program beyond the initial 14,000 students. The NYSE Foundation is funding IEP's launch to demonstrate the program's effectiveness, as well as encourage other foundations and corporations to help establish an ongoing program throughout the nation's high schools.

"Through its support of the Investor Education Project, the NYSE Foundation will introduce 14,000 high school students across the country to investing principles, techniques and tools for stock and mutual fund selection in a way that is engaging and fun," said Edward Davis, executive director of DECA.

IEP students will also receive hands-on support from BetterInvesting member volunteers with investment clubs and regional chapters. BetterInvesting, with its dedicated cadre of volunteer "educators," has been a leading proponent of investor education in the United States for more than 50 years.

"The participating students will learn investment basics as they see the results delivered by the stocks and mutual funds they select for their hypothetical portfolios," Davis added.

Special components of the program include a Web-based training program (for both students and teachers); a two-day selection and training seminar for teachers to learn BetterInvesting's long-term growth investing principles; support from trained, local mentors and an annual "Best Practices" summit.

For more information on the DECA-BetterInvesting Investment Education Project, contact Robert O'Hara, BetterInvesting's vice president of development, at (248) 583-6242 ext. 343 or roberto@better-investing.org.
