The E-Accountability Foundation announces the

'A for Accountability' Award

to those who are willing to whistleblow unjust, misleading, or false actions and claims of the politico-educational complex in order to bring about educational reform in favor of children of all races, intellectual ability and economic status. They ask questions that need to be asked, such as "where is the money?" and "Why does it have to be this way?" and they never give up. These people have withstood adversity and have held those who seem not to believe in honesty, integrity and compassion accountable for their actions. The winners of our "A" work to expose wrong-doing not for themselves, but for others - total strangers - for the "Greater Good"of the community and, by their actions, exemplify courage and self-less passion. They are parent advocates. We salute you.

Winners of the "A":

Drugs double whammy hits Glaxo

DRUGS giant GlaxoSmithKline is reeling from a double blow to its finances. The group ant admitted that it is being forced to set aside an estimated £250m to pay for the growing costs of US litigation on top of woes over Seroxat.

GSK decided to make the massive provision for the costs of settling court cases rather than risking upsetting the market by taking the pain only when a ruling is made.

The company says it should be applauded for its prudence, though analysts have begun to downgrade earnings forecasts

In another setback, British regulators issued strict new prescription guidelines for Glaxo's controversial anti-depressant Seroxat.

The National Institute for Clinical Excellence said anti-depressant drugs such as Seroxat and Eli Lilly's Prozac are massively overprescribed. It urged doctors to seek alternative treatments for all but the most acutely depressed.

Analysts fear this might be the final nail in the coffin for its one-time best seller which has recently been linked to suicides among young people.

Last year, Seroxat, which is branded Paxil in the US, contributed £1.8bn of sales. But in the past 12 months it has come under copycat competition. Third-quarter results showed that revenues tumbled 51%.

Meanwhile, GSK has been ordered by the Medicines & Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency to beef up warnings about the side effects of stopping taking antidepressants.
