Center For Educational Policy Research ![]()
A study conducted by Standards for Success (S4S)
(http://www.s4s.org/understanding.php), a consortium of universities belonging to the Association of American Universities (AAU), has found that state high school exams bear an inconsistent relationship to the knowledge and skills necessary for college success. States for which tests were analyzed include Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wyoming. Specially trained raters reviewed each item to determine if it covered content that was contained in a set of university success standards created by S4S. |
